Shaza Tarig (b. 1998) is a Sudanese-Aswani photographer based in Toronto.

She holds a BA in Political Science with focus on decolonial and gender studies. Her independent work and community engagement examine how anti-Blackness and gendered violence shapes the lives of youth across both Western and SWANA geographies.

Her photography blends the conceptual and the documentary. Grounded within commercial and fine art spaces, her practice understands and challenges how ideals of life, labour, desire, culture, and personal identity are all rendered and worked.
